UTA Free Fare Zone

Effective April 26, 2008, UTA has officially extended the Salt Lake Free Fare Zone to include the Intermodal Hub extension to Salt Lake Central Station.  This will apply to the new TRAX stops: Planetarium, Old Greek Town and Salt Lake Central.  The buses that serve 200 South at Salt Lake Central Station will also be included in the Free Fare Zone.  The Free Fare Zone extends West of 400 West on 200 South only.

Other existing borders of the zone remain unchanged, extending from 400 West to 200 East and from 500 South to North Temple, including the State Capitol circle to 500 North (see map below).

UTA passengers may ride for free when entering and exiting a fixed-route bus, paratransit vehicle or TRAX train within the boundaries of the Free Fare Zone. If you begin your ride before entering the zone and/or exit after leaving the zone, you will be asked to provide proof of payment.
