Pilot Programs

UTA is continually looking for ways to add convenience and enhance the riding experience for our customers. The following are recent pilot progams that are currently being evaluated for possible system-wide roll out.

• "Contactless" Fare – Piloted on the ski bus during the 2006-2007 ski season, this program tested a new payment method using electronic readers for "contacless" debit/credit cards to speed up boarding and add convenience for riders
  
  
• Internet on the Go – Wireless Internet pilot that was tested on Route 72 (Ogden - Salt Lake Express) from Oct. 2 through Dec. 2, 2006. The on-board wireless service allowed riders to use their travel time to work, surf the Internet, or check and send e-mails.
